Nebraska troopers held two day surprise inspection blitz in Sarpy County

This month, the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) conducted two consecutive days of surprise truck inspections in Sarpy County.

The inspections took place on June 8 and 9 in La Vista and the surrounding area in Sarpy County, Nebraska.

Officers with the NSP Carrier Enforcement Division conducted the two day inspections in order to “target commercial vehicles that might not travel outside the city or pass-through weigh stations as part of their regular routes.”

During the June 8 effort, officers conducted 19 vehicle inspections. Thirteen vehicles were placed out of service for various safety violations. Three drivers were also taken out of service. Inspectors uncovered a total of 92 violations of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and state law.

On June 9, a total of 19 vehicle inspections were conducted. Nine vehicles were placed out of service for various safety violations. No drivers were placed out of service. Troopers found a total of 66 violations of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and state law.
