Missouri transportation officials are asking drivers to seek alternate routes due to a multiple truck pileup on Thursday morning.
The crash occurred around 9:40 a.m. on eastbound I-44 at mile marker 227 near Sullivan, Missouri.

Local outlet Sullivan Independent News reports that nine semi trucks were involved in a pileup collision.
It isn’t clear how many people were injured, but ambulances have responded to the scene.
The interstate is closed until the crashed trucks can be removed.
