Officer pinned beneath out-of-control semi truck

Published:

A police officer had to be rescued from beneath a wrecked tractor trailer in Texas on Thursday morning.

The accident happened on February 24th at around 9 a.m. on southbound interstate 35W near Earnhardt Way in Roanoke, Texas.

According to Fox 4 News, a semi truck lost control and jackknifed, which sent it crashing into several vehicles stopped for a previous wreck, including two police cruisers. The wreck overturned the trailer, pinned a police officer underneath the rig, and injured three others.

The trapped officer had to be extricated from under the semi truck. Officials believe slick and icy road conditions contributed to the wreck. Drivers are asked to avoid the area and stay off the roads if possible. No further information has been released.
