One charge dismissed as trucker stands trial for sex crimes against children 

A truck driver accused of raping and molesting children in North Dakota is currently standing trial. 

The driver, Elias Perez, is said to have sexually abused children in Burleigh County, North Dakota between 2018 and 2020. He was arrested last June and has remained in custody at the Burleigh Morton County Detention Center on a $1,000,000 bond.

According to West Dakota Fox News, the jury trial began on Tuesday, May 24th. One charge of patronizing a minor for commercial sexual activity was dismissed by a district court judge. Five more felony charges against him still stand. 

The trial is scheduled to continue through Friday, May 27th.
