Arkansas transportation officials say that eastbound I-40 is still closed on Tuesday morning after a fiery crash involving multiple trucks.
The crash occurred around 3:15 p.m. on Monday, August 22, east of Forrest City, Arkansas.
The Arkansas Department of Transportation has confirmed that a truck hauling diesel crashed along with other vehicles on I-40 east at mile marker 245.6.
The crash involved eight commercial vehicles, three pickups, and two cars.
Local news outlet Fox 13 reports that at least one person was trapped in the wreckage following the crash and that one person has been reported dead.
Video captured at the scene shows several trucks on fire.
The crash caused a massive backup on I-40 in the area.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
