One million pound oversized load traveling through western North Dakota on Wednesday

The North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) is asking drivers to plan alternate routes due to a super load that will be on the move on Wednesday.

According to NDHP, trucking company Barnhart Crane & Rigging is moving a 25 foot wide, 1 million pound (36 axle), turbine load on November 15 — 16, but troopers said that most of the move will take place on the 16th, weather permitting.

NHDP said that the turbine load stopped for the night in Bowman on Tuesday.

NDHP outlined the route for the load:

The route through ND started on Hwy 85 at the SD border. It travels north on Hwy 85 to Williston and then turns west on Hwy 2 going to MT. Traffic on Hwy 85 and Hwy 2 will be affected as it makes its way through the state. #NDHP asks that motorists consider an alternate route since delays are expected. There are no planed road closures, just expected delays.
