Published:

A motorist ran from one lane to another in a successful attempt to cause a crash with an oncoming tractor trailer in Connecticut on Monday.

The incident occurred on July 18th at around 11:30 p.m. on Interstate 91 in Cromwell, Connecticut.

According to Middletown Patch News, a Prius driven by 31-year-old Nicholas A. Davidowicz was parked in the right and center lanes of southbound I-91 as a tractor trailer approached when the motorist got out and stood in the roadway. The semi truck then swerved into the left lane in an attempt to avoid a collision, but Davidowicz ran from the center lane into the left lane and was subsequently run over.

The truck driver, a man from Florida, then lost control of the rig and sideswiped the prius before overturning. The trucker was not hurt in the incident, but Davidowicz was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is still under investigation. Any witnesses are urged to call Michael Dean at Troop H at 860.534.1098 or email him at [email protected].
