People’s Convoy to meet with Republican Senators to “discuss harmful effects” of recent mandates

Truckers from the People’s Convoy are scheduled to meet with two republican senators on Tuesday to “to discuss the harmful effects of President Biden’s vaccine mandates, according to the Independent

The meeting will be held in the Senate Visitor Center at around 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, March 8th and will include Republican Senators Johnson of Wisconsin and Cruz of Texas, along with some convoy organizers. The remaining truckers and convoy participants plan to circle the Beltway once more during the meeting, reported Patch News

“We are making some progress!” the group’s Facebook page stated. “First meeting with DC scheduled for tomorrow. Talks have begun … but we aren’t leaving until our demands are met. While leadership is attending the meeting, our convoy will circle the beltway 2 wide for 1 loop.”

“We just want freedom,” Brian Brase, an organizer of the People’s Convoy, told the Washington Post. “We just want to choose.”

The planned route for Tuesday includes one lap around the Beltway, two vehicles wide, along Route 40 east to Route 63 south, to Interstate 70 east to Interstate 270 to Interstate 495 to Interstate 270 to Interstate 70 to Route 63 north to Route 40 west and back to the Hagerstown Speedway. This will be the third day the convoy has made the lap around the outskirts of the city of D.C.
