Two people were hospitalized after a dramatic explosive crash in Oregon on Monday.

The accident happened at around 4 a.m. on Monday morning, August 29th near Boring, Oregon.

According to Canby First, a pickup truck failed to stop at a stop sign at the Stone Road intersection with Highway 26 and collided with a tanker truck. The collision sent both vehicles crashing onto the highway shoulder, where leaked fuel from the tanker truck caught fire, causing an explosion.

Nearby residents were asked to evacuate the area, but the request was canceled after about an hour.

The pickup driver was pulled from his vehicle in critical condition, just before the vehicle erupted into flames. The tanker driver sustained only minor injuries. No further information has been released.
