Pickup’s radiator malfunction leads to multi-vehicle I-94 crash caught on Minnesota traffic cams

Published:

Minnesota Department of Transportation (MNDOT) traffic cameras captured a multi-vehicle crash on I-94 caused by sudden smoke from a pickup with a plow.

The crash was caught on camera on December 16, 2022 on I-94 in northwestern Minnesota.

In the video clip shared by MN Safety, you can see that a pickup with a plow attachment suddenly starts spewing smoke. The pickup comes to a stop, but the smoke results in sudden reduced visibility for other drivers on the interstate, causing several vehicles to crash.

MN Safety says that state police confirmed that the crash was caused by “a hose coming off a radiator.”

No life-threatening injuries were reported following the crash.
