A box truck driver is happy to be alive after a large hunk of wood smashed through his windshield in Georgia recently.
The driver was heading down Interstate 20 in DeKalb County, Georgia when the plank came off the back of a semi truck and smashed through the windshield of the box truck. The driver of the box truck was then struck by the flying plank, which left a large hole in the vehicle’s windshield.
According to WSBTV 2, the box truck driver is okay and sustained only minor injuries. It is unclear if the semi truck driver will face any charges.
“This is why load securement is so essential,” officials with the DPS said.
