Plant worker killed after yard truck backs over him

A man was killed at a plant in North Carolina on Friday night after being run over by a reversing yard truck. 

The accident happened on July 29th at River Valley Ingredients, a poultry by-product processing plant on Sheffield Road in Harmony, North Carolina. 

Police were called to the scene around 7:45 p.m. and found an injured worker lying in the parking lot of the plant. Witnesses told officers that the injured man, 43-year-old Jason Wayne Bare, was in the parking lot when another plant worker driving a yard truck ran over him while backing into an unloading bay. 

Bare died at the scene. The incident is being investigated as a fatal collision. No charges are expected against the driver involved in the incident, Master Trooper Jeffrey Swagger told The Charlotte Observer.
