POLICE: Driver charged after hitting traffic flagger, fleeing scene

A truck driver is being held on $75,000 bond after hitting a traffic flagger and fleeing the scene in West Virginia on Tuesday. 

The accident happened on December 6th in Weston along Route 19. 

According to Fox 19, 29-year-old Caitlin Bish was in the northbound lane of Route 19 when he approached a vehicle being loaded onto a flatbed with a flagger directing traffic. Bish then struck the flagger, throwing him over a guardrail, and fled the scene. 

A few miles down the road, Bish pulled into a truck stop, where the flatbed driver was able to find him. When the flatbed driver approached him, Bish told the man he was “not going to run anymore” and put his hands up. Police arrived shortly after. 

The flagger was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. 

Bish was charged with hit and run resulting in serious injury. He is being held on a $75,000 bond.
