Police in Alabama are searching for a truck driver accused of swiping a child from a mother’s shopping cart on Thursday.
The incident occurred in a retail store on December 8th between 11:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. in Attalla, Alabama.
According to the Attalla Police Department, the man, described as older and white, picked a small child out of its mothers shopping cart and placed them in his own cart. The mother noticed almost immediately and retrieved her child.
Investigators then reviewed several hours of surveillance footage and were able to identify the suspect as a truck driver, as well as determine the name of his Illinois-based trucking company. The name of the company has not been released.
Attalla police and several other agencies are working to locate the driver for interrogation. Anyone with information on the man is asked to please contact the Attalla Police Department.
