POLICE: Tased trucker rips out leads, takes officers on a chase

Published:

An apparently aggressive truck driver was tased during a police stop on Wednesday night but still managed to lead police on a high-speed chase, officers say.

The incident occurred on January 12th at around 9:30 p.m. in Brandon, Mississippi.

According to 16 ABC News, a Brandon police officer pulled over a flatbed tractor trailer on westbound Interstate 20 near the east Brandon exit for reasons that were not disclosed. The officer says that the truck driver appeared very nervous when speaking to him and eventually “postured to assault the officer.”

The officer then tased the driver, but the man was able to pull both electrodes from his body, get back into his rig, and drive away. The officer then pursued the truck west on I-20 through Pearl until the driver took an Highway 49 south exit too fast and overturned the rig, spilling a load of concrete blocks.

The trucker, Kitrick Ray Jackson, sustained minor injuries in the crash and was placed under arrest. Jackson is now facing traffic violations, resisting arrest, assault on a police officer and felony fleeing. He is being held on $130,000 bond.
