Original Report————————————————————

A sheriff’s office in Texas is asking for public help in locating a former trucker driver who is believed to be frequenting Love’s truck stops.

This week, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office put out an alert for Everette Marion Long, 74, who has been missing since May 4, 2022.

After leaving his home in Jasper, Texas, on May 4, Long visited the Community Bank of Texas. He asked for directions to the Department of Public Safety office in Jasper, but never arrived at the office.

Long has been spotted in Arkansas, Tennessee, and at a Love’s truck stop in Calhoun, Georgia, on May 9.

Family members believe that Long may be in a state of dementia, according to local outlet KJAS. A former truck driver who used to haul pipe from Houston to the southeastern U.S., Long may believe that he is back on his old route along the I-30 corridor, family members say. Long appears to be stopping frequently at Love’s locations, according to his credit card information.

Long is driving a white Chevy 3/4 ton pickup with no tailgate.

Long is described as a white male who is 5’10” weighing 235 pounds with grey hair and blue eyes. He’s been spotted wearing black pants, a blue shirt, and a green baseball cap.

Anyone who spots Long is asked to call the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office at 409-384-5417.
