A semi truck’s trailer fell off of an overpass in Wisconsin on Thursday, injuring the driver and two in a nearby pickup.

The accident happened on March 31st in Lake Hallie, Wisconsin just before 1:30 p.m.

According to WEAU News, a semi truck hauling scrap metal was traveling west on Highway 29 when it somehow overturned and lost its trailer, sending it falling onto the northbound lanes of Highway 53 below. A pickup driving near the scene of the crash was struck by the falling debris, causing its roof to collapse and injuring two people inside.

The two people in the pickup, along with the truck driver, were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The trucker was not reported to have serious injuries.

The exact reason behind the crash has not been released, but the Lake Hallie Police Department says Wisconsin State Patrol say that the truck driver will be cited for failure to maintain proper control of a vehicle.
