According to KMBC News, the massive slab of concrete was on the back of a truck on its way to a construction site when it fell off the trailer due to “mechanical failure.” The slab weighs an estimated 50,000 pounds. Skid marks can be seen on the roadway where the slab began to fall and the truck started coming to a stop.

Crews used two heavy-duty tow trucks to lift the slab and lower it onto another tractor trailer to be hauled away. The incident has since been cleared, but US 169 was closed for about two hours as crews worked to remove the debris.
