Sheriff seeks ‘reckless’ semi driver involved in ‘near-fatal collision’ caught on dash cam

Published:

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office (FBCSO) is asking for public help in identifying a truck involved in a hit-and-run crash in an intersection last month.

ON July 15, the FBCSO shared a dash cam video and put out a call for assistance from the public in identifying a truck involved in a crash on June 21, 2022, around 8:45 a.m.

Police say that the crash occurred in Sugar Land, Texas, at the intersection of State Highway 6 and Old Richmond Road.

“The truck driver was traveling at an unknown high rate of speed and ran a red light, striking the vehicle. Fortunately for the driver of the stricken vehicle, only the front bumper was damaged. By the looks of this video, this collision could have been a fatal one,” FBCSO said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS (8477). If the suspect is arrested and charges are filed, your tip could be worth up to $5000.
