Snow plow’s sudden u-turn sends load through cab of semi truck after driver slams brakes

A trucker was critically injured on Thursday after his load pierced his cab, pinning him in the truck.

The accident happened on December 15th at 1300 West Hinkley Drive in Ogden, Utah just before 10 a.m.

According to KJZZ 14 News, a snowplow was traveling east when it suddenly made a u-turn and started heading west. During the u-turn, the snow plow veered into the path of an oncoming semi truck hauling metal pipes, forcing the trucker to slam on the brakes.

The force of the sudden stop caused the trucker’s load to shift forward, sending it through the cab of the truck and pinning the driver inside.

The extrication of the trucker was described as complex, and required multiple agencies to complete. After the rescue, the trucker was transported to a nearby hospital in serious condition. No further information has been released.
