South Dakota troopers find 8 out of service violations on ‘custom harvester out of Oklahoma’

Published:

Troopers with the South Dakota Highway Patrol (SDHP) took to social media to highlight numerous violations discovered during a recent inspection.

In an August 3 Facebook post, SDHP said:

Level one inspection near Belle Fourche resulted in several out service violations. This custom harvester out of Oklahoma had 18 violations and 8 out of service violations on his bobtail semi.

The driver had removed the front axle brake linings and a drive axle wheel has a large wheel seal leak. This vehicle also has tire violations and cut air lines. Only 3 of the 6 brakes were actually working but the truck couldn’t maintain air so essentially had no brakes. Vehicle was towed and will not be put back into service until repairs are made. #keepSDsafe

The post also featured photos of the equipment.
