Authorities in Oregon are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at a truck stop near Aurora on Monday.
At 6:15 a.m. on April 25, deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) were called to the Flying J outside of Aurora for a report of a wanted person spotted at the location.
When police arrived, the suspect was barricaded inside of a vehicle at the truck stop.
The Marion County Interagency SWAT team was called in to assist.
According to MCSO, “During the incident there was an officer involved shooting. One law enforcement officer was injured and taken to an area hospital for treatment, their condition is not available at this time.”
The suspect was also injured during the incident. Emergency medical aid was provided at the scene, but the suspect did not survive.
The Marion County District Attorney’s Office and Oregon State Police are investigating the shooting incident.
