Suspect in fatal stabbing ends life by stepping in front of semi truck

Published:

A suspect is dead after intentionally stepping in front of an oncoming semi truck following a fatal stabbing at a nearby apartment.

The incident happened on Sunday, October 2nd in Roswell, Georgia.

According to Fox 5 News, police were called to the Midwood Roswell Apartments on Mimosa Boulevard at around 10 p.m. for an injured person. When officers arrived, they found 31-year-old Rosa Evaristo Perez dead from a stab wound. Her family told police that they had come to check on her after receiving vague, yet apologetic messages that appeared to be a confession from someone known by the family.

Police were able to identify the suspect in the case and began the search for them. Some time later, Roswell Police Department officers received reports from the Sandy Springs Police Department detailing a fatal semi truck crash involving a pedestrian who they believed to be the suspect.

The Sandy Springs Police Department reported that the suspect parked their vehicle on Interstate 285, got out of the car, and intentionally stepped into the path of an oncoming semi truck.

No further information about the semi truck crash has been released, but Roswell police do not believe there are any other suspects in the homicide. The person’s identity has not been released.
