The family of the teen recently crushed by a passing flatbed after falling off a parked trailer says the boy was filming a music video.
The boy was killed in the Bronx in New York City earlier this week in a previously unexplained accident. But now, his family has started putting the pieces together.
41-year-old Antonio Garcia says that Daniel Hernandez Sena was in the Bronx shooting a music video the night he died – something he did often. While dancing on top of the parked dry van trailer on E. 138th St. near Walnut Ave. in Mott Haven, Daniel lost his footing and fell in between the rear wheels of a passing, empty flatbed truck. Daniel was immediately crushed to death, reported Local Today News.
“He liked to dance to get the media spotlight,” Garcia, one of Daniel’s maternal uncles, told the Daily News. “Hip hop, I think.”
“Daniel was a lovely young man who was 17 and always put a smile on all of our faces,” the grieving uncle wrote on the newly created GoFundMe page for funeral expenses. “He… was just beginning to live a life with a bright future ahead of him.”
Officials say Daniel’s death was caught on a nearby surveillance camera, but the footage has not been released. The truck driver involved in the incident has not been charged.
