Teenager smashes into semi truck right in front of police officer

A teenager was seriously hurt after crashing into the side of a semi truck in South Carolina on Saturday morning. 

The accident occurred on the morning of December 10th in Ruffin, South Carolina.

According to News 2, a 19-year-old in a 2015 Toyota 4-Runner crashed into the transfer truck along Bells Highway near I-95 just after 7 a.m. The force of the wreck sent the car under the side of the trailer. 

“A Walterboro Police Officer was behind the 4-Runner and witnessed the accident,” officials said. 

The teenager was treated at the scene but was eventually transported to a nearby trauma hospital. The truck driver sustained minor injuries but declined to be taken to a hospital. 

The crash is still under investigation by Walterboro Police.
