Texas police investigating crash that caused semi to roll off overpass and explode, killing truck driver

Law enforcement officers in Allen, Texas, are investigating a fiery fatal crash involving a semi truck and another vehicle that occurred on Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened shortly before 3 p.m. on September 20 on US-75 (Central Expressway) at the Stacy Road overpass in Allen.

“It appears the tractor trailer was northbound on US-75 and collided with another vehicle. After the collision, the tractor trailer drove over the right side of the overpass, crashed on the service road below, and burst into flames,” the Allen Police Department said in a news release.

When police arrived at the scene the tractor trailer was fully engulfed in flames.

The truck driver did not survive.

“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the victim’s family and friends as they deal with their loss,” the Allen Police Department said.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to call Athe Allen Police Department Traffic Unit at 214-509-4288.

A truck driver was killed last week in Allen, Texas, after colliding with another vehicle on southbound US 75 and crashing partially off of an overpass.
