A train and a semi truck avoided near disaster in Arkansas on Tuesday morning after the rig got stuck on the train tracks.
The near miss happened on June 28th just before 8 a.m. in Conway, Arkansas at the crossing of Mill and Parkway Streets.
According to Fox 16 News, a car hauler got stuck on the tracks and was unable to move as a Union Pacific train approached. Somehow, the train conductor realized what was happening and was able to bring the train to a stop just in time – the train came to a stop mere feet from the stuck truck.
“I came around the side of the building, and I was like, oh, ok, that’s what’s going on!” said Jamie Davis, an employee at a nearby restaurant. “That thing was stopped right against it.”
Thankfully, no one was hurt and nothing was damaged in the near-incident. It took crews about an hour to get a tow truck and clear the train tracks. The cars on the car hauler reportedly made it safely to their destination.
