Troopers: Pedestrian “nearly decapitated” after stepping “casually” into path of moving semi truck

Published:

A man is dead after stepping into the path of a moving semi truck in Arizona on Tuesday night.

The incident happened on March 8th at around 1 a.m. in Beaver Dam, Arizona.

An Arizona Department of Public Safety Trooper says that the man was first spotted outside of a casino in Mesquite, Nevada in an argument with a woman. Police were called to the scene but the pair was soon released. Just five hours later, the man was walking near the shoulder of Interstate 15 near mile marker 3, five miles south of the Beaver Dam-Littlefield exit when he walked “directly” and “causally” into the path of an oncoming semi truck traveling along the highway. Troopers say the man was “nearly decapitated” on impact, reported ABC 4.

The impact caused heavy damage to the grill of the truck and even crushed the radiator, causing the truck to be disabled. The truck driver was not hurt in the crash.

No citations were issued in the incident as police determined the truck driver was not at fault. No further information has been released.
