Truck driver pulled to safety by Good Samaritan after skidding down embankment

Published:

A truck driver sustained only minor injuries after plunging down an embankment near a gas station in Connecticut early on Monday morning.

The accident happened at around 3:30 a.m. between Lake Avenue Extension and I-84 in Danbury.

According to News Times, the bobtail truck went off of Interstate 84 near a Shell gas station and crashed through an area of “heavy brush” before finally coming to a stop. An employee at the nearby Ethan Allen Inn witnessed the wreck and ran over to pull the trucker to safety.

The trucker was then transported to a nearby hospital with only minor injuries.

“Firefighters had to then work to clear brush and debris to gain access to the truck, to address hazards associated with the crash, as well as provide access for the tow recovery,” Danbury fire officials said.

The scene was cleared after three hours. No further information has been released.
