Police in Wisconsin say that a medical emergency led a truck driver to veer off the roadway prior to a fatal crash into a home late last month.
The crash occurred around 6 p.m. on July 25 in Vinland, Wisconsin when a truck that had been southbound on I-41 veered off the interstate, went through a fence, crossed a frontage road, and then struck an occupied home on Green Valley Road.
Eight month old Martin Stechner III died at the scene.

The truck driver, a 63 year old Wisconsin resident, suffered minor injuries from the crash.
In a crash report released on Wednesday, August 3, the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office said that the truck driver fainted as a result of a medical issue.
The truck driver’s daughter told local outlet Fox11 that her father “has had more than 30 years of safe driving experience,” and is “mentally torn up from the situation.”
The investigation into the crash is still underway.
