A truck driver was charged after a four wheeler hydroplaned and skidded beneath his truck in Virginia on Wednesday afternoon.

The accident happened just before 4 p.m. on March 23rd in Hanover County, Virginia.

According to WRIC News, 22-year-old Lauren Ott lost control of her car on Interstate 95 near mile marker 86 and began to hydroplane. The car eventually skidded into the side of a moving tractor trailer and became wedged underneath it.

Ott sustained serious but not life threatening injuries in the wreck, and had to be rescued from the mangled vehicle by Hanover Fire and Rescue. She was then transported to a nearby hospital.

The 31-year-old trucker, Elione Sengabo, was not hurt in the incident. However, Sengabo was cited by police for driving a truck in the left lane of the interstate. Ott was charged for reckless driving with failure to maintain control of a vehicle.
