Trucker facing 18 charges after getting pulled over for completing paperwork while driving

A truck driver and his company are facing a combined 18 charges after the driver was caught completing paperwork while driving a truck with multiple defects. 

The incident happened at around 3 p.m. on Thursday, November 10th in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. 

According to Guelph Today News, an officer was patrolling the Hanlon Expressway when he observed a tractor trailer swerving in and out of the highway shoulder. The officer then pulled the truck over to check the driver’s well-being and found he was filling out paperwork intended to be completed before driving, including an inspection report. 

The officer then examined the truck and found a number of defects, including multiple bald tires, tires with low pressure, and a bent axle causing brakes to be out of alignment. The truck was then taken out of service, and the driver and company have been charged.
