A truck driver was fatally struck by a motorist in Maryland over the weekend while helping a fellow driver with his trailer.
The accident happened on November 19th in White Marsh, Maryland at around 7:20 p.m.
According to The Sacramento Bee, 52-year-old Joseph Russell Thomas was wearing a work vest while trying to help another driver connect their trailer to their truck while parked on the right shoulder of 1-95 south.
As Thomas helped, a BMW crossed the solid white line and struck him and the trailer.
Thomas was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police described him as wearing a “fluorescent vest” at the time of the incident. No further information about the incident has been released.
