According to Fox 13, the trucker may have suffered a medical emergency, which led to the truck veering off the highway and into the bridge support columns. The crash ripped apart the truck and broke open the trailer, leaving a twisted mess behind. Some diesel was also leaked onto the roadway as a result of the crash.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident. Officials say the overpass will need to be inspected for damages. No further information has been released. Officials were still advising travelers to take alternate routes as of 11:30 a.m.
