A truck driver is planning to buy a new truck after he won nearly a quarter of a million dollars in the lottery this fall.
49-year-old trucker William Elson of Tweed, Ontario works as a truck driver and is a regular lottery player. He says he’s been playing the lottery for 20 years, but this September was the first time he couldn’t believe what he saw.
“I went to the store and checked my ticket using the ticket checker,” recalled Elson. “I almost dropped to the floor when I saw ‘Big Winner.’” Elson had won $230,280.40 in the Lotto Max draw. He says he had to check his ticket three times “to make sure it was real.”
“I was very shocked,” he said to Daily Hive.
“I plan to invest my winnings, purchase a new truck, and maybe take a holiday in the future,” he said.
