Trucker rescued in “difficult and challenging extrication”

A truck driver is in the hospital after a dramatic semi truck crash in Pennsylvania on Thursday morning. 

The accident happened on June 2nd along Interstate 80 at mile marker 268.1 in White Haven, Pennsylvania. 

According to Fox 56 News, the accident involved multiple vehicles and first responders arrived to find the trucker trapped in their cab with serious injuries. Crews worked to remove the driver from the mangled rig and were eventually successful. White Haven EMS had the following statement about the rescue:

“A very difficult and challenging extrication was performed through the tremendous teamwork of multiple agencies. This incident is a perfect example of interagency cooperation and teamwork – between fire & rescue companies and EMS agencies – leading to a positive outcome.”

The driver was then transported to the Geisinger Wyoming Valley hospital in serious condition. Further information has not been released.
