A truck driver was seriously hurt in a wreck with another tractor trailer in Indiana on Tuesday morning.

The accident happened in the early hours of September 27th in northwest Indiana on Interstate 80/94 near mile marker 12.

According to ABC 7 Chicago, one driver crashed into the trailer of another truck, seriously damaging the cab of his rig and the trailer of the other. Energy drinks from one of the trailers were spilled along the roadway as a result of the incident. 

One driver sustained life-threatening injuries. 

The incident caused eight-mile backups in the area, but most eastbound lanes at Grant street had been reopened by 8:30 a.m.
