Trucker takes a terrifying tumble off an icy bridge

Police in North Carolina say that a truck driver survived after losing control on an icy highway bridge over the weekend.

The incident happened around 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 16, in Durham, North Carolina.

A tractor trailer traveling on Highway 147 over 15-501 northbound fell off the slick overpass and came to a stop with the trailer propped vertically against the bridge.

The cab of the truck sustained major damage during the single vehicle crash.

The Durham Police Department said that the truck driver was treated for injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.
