Two dead in Michigan multi-vehicle crash after semi crosses median into oncoming traffic


Police in Green Oak Township, Michigan, say that a semi truck driver and a motorist were killed in a head-on crash on Monday night.

The crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Monday, December 12, on U.S. 23 in Green Oak Township.

Authorities say that a semi truck traveling north on U.S. 23 crossed over into the southbound lanes, striking a second semi truck head-on.

The wrong way truck also struck a southbound pickup truck and an SUV.

The driver of the southbound semi truck died in the crash.

The driver of the pickup truck was ejected and died at the scene.

The driver of the wrong way semi truck was hospitalized with injuries but is expected to survive.

The pickup caught fire as a result of the crash.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
