Two people were taken to the hospital for multiple bee stings after a semi truck overturned while hauling bees.
The accident happened on June 27th on Interstate 80 in Summit County, Utah.
According to Fox 13 News, the semi truck hauling bees was traveling along I-80 eastbound near mile marker 149 east of the US 40 intersection when it overturned, spilling more than 200 beehives. Two people, including the truck driver, were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for bee stings and minor injuries sustained in the wreck.
Officials closed one eastbound lane to allow crews to clear the mess and collect the bees. The nearby Rail Trail is also closed through the canyon due to the influx of bees in the area.
The roadway is expected to be cleared by this afternoon. No further information has been released.
