Two semis, 18 cars involved in Sunday’s Florida pileup

No serious injuries have been reported after a total of 20 vehicles were involved in a pile-up crash in Florida on Sunday. 

The accident happened on November 27th in Duval County, Florida on Interstate 295 southbound at Morse Avenue. 

Florida Highway Patrol reported an initial crash involving multiple vehicles in the southbound lanes of I-295. That crash sparked a series of secondary crashes involving 5 more cars, ending with a total of 20 vehicles involved. Two of the vehicles involved were tractor trailers. 

Four people were injured in the incident, and two had to be extricated from their vehicles, but none of the injuries were considered life-threatening, reported News 4 Jax.

Traffic was rerouted to the 103rd Street exit as crews worked to investigate and clear the crash. There is no word yet on what caused the series of collisions.
