A truck driver was rescued on Wednesday after driving off road and into a ravine, officials say.
The accident happened on July 27th at the Big Bend National Park in Texas on July 27th.
According to The News & Observer, the truck driver traveled a full half mile off the roadway before plunging into the ravine near the park’s visitor center and a US Border Patrol facility.

The trucker was then rescued from the ravine by park rangers and border patrol agents and was carried out on a stretcher. The unnamed driver was then taken to a nearby hospital “for observation.” Officials did not disclose the current condition of the driver.
It is still unclear why the trucker drove so far off the roadway. No further information has been released.
