UPDATE: Box truck driver fell asleep, leading to trucker’s dramatic dangle from Grand Parkway

Published:

New details surrounding a November wreck that left a semi truck hanging from a Texas highway have been released.

The accident happened on November 14th at the Grand Parkway and Birnham Woods in Spring, Texas.

New reports show that the driver of a box truck fell asleep at the wheel, causing him to veer out of his lane. The box truck driver then overcorrected and struck a semi truck. The force of the impact sent the semi truck sliding into the concrete wall of the overpass, where it went over the side and was left dangling.

Somehow, no one was seriously hurt in the incident. The trucker was rescued thanks to the help of a ladder designed for high-rise building rescues, reported ABC 13.

It is unclear what citations, if any, were issued as a result of the incident.
