UPDATE: Man charged with murder after dead body revealed in semi’s minor wreck with pickup

The man already charged after an incident with a semi truck revealed a dead body in his pickup is now facing murder charges.

19-year-old Stephen Freeman was charged with concealing the death of an individual and receiving and concealing stolen property earlier this month and was given $75,000 bond. On Tuesday, November 15th, the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office charged him with felony murder and his bond was revoked. He will be held at the Macomb County Jail until his trial.

The body of 62-year-old Gabriele Seitz was found in the back of Freeman’s pickup truck during a routine investigation following a fender bender with a semi truck turning in an intersection. Freeman fled the scene on foot, but was later found and taken into custody.

Further investigation has now revealed that Freeman likely broke into Seitz’s house while she was not home. When she arrived home, Freeman was still inside of the house and an “altercation ensued resulting in Gabriele Seitz’s death,” reported Click on Detroit.

Officials have still not released how Seitz died. Freeman’s next court appearance is scheduled for November 30th.
