VIDEO: Four wheelers pay the price for rubbernecking at the site of a semi truck crash

Oregon State Police (OSP) recently shared dash cam video as a reminder to drivers that paying more attention to someone else’s crash than the road ahead of you could lead to a crash of your own.

The dash cam video was captured on I-5 at milepost 40 southbound in Jackson County, Oregon.

According to OSP, a trooper had just arrived on the scene of a previous semi truck crash when a passenger vehicle driver failed to notice slowed traffic and collided with another vehicle.

OSP says that only minor injuries were sustained in the crash.

“It is so important to pay attention to everything happening around you while driving, but you must know what is right in front of you. Curiosity is what can cause accidents like this one,” OSP said.
