This week, the Nebraska State Police (NSP) released dash cam video of a truck jackknifing and hitting a trooper’s patrol vehicle.
The dash cam video was captured on December 10, 2021, on I-80 near Elm Creek, Nebraska.
NSP Trooper James Roberts was responding to a previous crash involving a semi truck and an SUV when a second semi truck jackknifed as it approached the scene.
Trooper Roberts spotted the out of control truck and was able to move himself and others out of the way.
No injuries were reported.
“(Sound on) Back in December, one of our troopers’ units was hit while he responded to another crash during a snowstorm. It took a while because the vehicle was destroyed, but we’ve been able to retrieve the video. Incredible job by Trooper Roberts to stay alert, recognize the oncoming danger, and get himself and others out of the way,” NSP said.
