VIDEO: Trucker makes an unusual discovery on I-70 in Missouri

Published:

A truck driver’s dash cam shows that she was on the scene moments after a plane landed on I-70 in Missouri after the suspected intoxicated pilot ran out of fuel.

The incident was caught on video around 2:30 a.m. on Friday, July 15, near Grain Valley, Missouri.

In video shared by her employer Chad Bishop of Equity Transportation, driver Crystal Lipham spots a small plane in active lanes of traffic on I-70 west near mile marker 23.

Lipham is able to safely bring the truck to a stop, then gets out to investigate the unusual situation and tells another person in the truck to call 911.

The pilot, later identified as John Seesing, 35, suffered only minor injuries after making an emergency landing on the interstate because he ran out of fuel.

According to KSHB, Seesing was charged with DWI, careless and imprudent operation involving a crash, felony possession of controlled substance, felony possession of a firearm, possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

“Wow, this plane landed in front of one of my drivers late last night on I-70 in Oak Grove Mo. The pilot was super drunk and ran out of fuel. He is lucky to be alive and I wonder what kind of DUI you get for operating a plane under the influence,” Bishop wrote in a social media post.
