Drivers traveling on a New Jersey highway were treated to an unexpected show on Sunday night after a truck fire ignited the vehicle’s load of fireworks.
The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on June 26 on southbound I-287 at mile marker 15.4 near Bridgewater, New Jersey.
Transportation officials say that a trailer loaded with fireworks caught fire, causing the fireworks to ignite.
No injuries were reported.
As of Monday morning, three lanes of southbound I-287 remain closed, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
