WATCH: Car hauler gets stuck on railroad tracks in Texas. Twenty seconds later, a train barrels through.

Published:

In this stomach-churning video captured in Texas, a semi truck becomes stuck on a set of railroad tracks just moments before the crossing arm activates and a train comes barreling through.

The incident occurred around 2 p.m. on the afternoon of Thursday, September 15, at FM 78 and 1st Street in Schertz, Texas, when a truck hauling an auto trailer attempted to cross the railroad tracks and became struck.

The truck driver was able to get out of the truck before the crash.

No injuries were reported.

Video of the incident was shared by Facebook user Joyce Zimdahl, who noted that other truckers have run into problems at the intersection over the past few years.

She said:

Here’s the full video of the truck vs. train accident next to our office today. Thank GOD the men were able to get out safely…literally seconds before the train hit!

Thankful that Schertz Police Department was on the scene very quickly.

This intersection has been an issue for many, many years. It has been reported to TX-DOT that large trucks cannot go over the tracks here because they bottom out. They finally placed a sign on the corner (somewhat far from the tracks) warning the drivers. However, if the driver is told to take this specific route, that’s what they do. Unfortunately some drivers haven’t been as lucky as these guys today

See the video below (if you’re in a hurry, the truck becomes stuck around the 1:45 mark. The train strike occurs at the 2:05 mark.)
