Werner acquires Indiana-based Baylor Trucking; leadership, drivers, and brand to remain in place

On Monday, Werner Enterprises announced the acquisition of a 200 truck carrier based in Indiana.

On October 3, 2022, Werner reported closing on the acquisition of FAB9, Inc., doing business as Baylor Trucking, Inc. 

Werner did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement.

Werner said that they’ll add Baylor’s “234 highly-skilled, tenured and professional drivers” to their team, as well as Baylor’s fleet of 200 trucks (170 company and 30 independent contractor) and 980 trailers.

Baylor will retain its current leadership, including President Cari Baylor, as well as driver and non-driver employees. The trucking company will continue to operate under the “Baylor” brand name for the purposes of smooth integration and high driver retention.

Werner says that Baylor will operate as a standalone business unit within Werner, and their financial results will be reported in Werner’s One-Way Truckload unit within Truckload Transportation Services

Milan, Indiana-based Baylor Trucking was founded in 1946 by Chester Baylor and provides  truckload services to clients in the east central and south central U.S., with their network of two terminals.
